THE EVALUATION

Your first step towards beginning training or gaining playcare PACK membership

The evaluation is a required one-on-one session with you, your dog(s), and our trainer that will introduce you to the basics of canine behavior, canine psychology, and the ideal canine lifestyle. We'll explain why your dog behaves the way they do and teach you how to master the walk with your dog. We will also show you how to clearly communicate with your dog using intrinsic language that utilizes body language, touch, and sound (not speech). It is vital that we teach our new clients and potential members dog body language, behavior, psychology and the differences between obedience and behavior training prior to beginning a training program. We will schedule a phone consultation prior to the evaluation.

The evaluation is a minimum of two hours, allowing us ample time to determine your canine's individual needs and get you on track to having a well behaved companion. Our goal is that you will not need to pursue further training as long as you keep in mind canine behavior, psychology, and consistently reaffirm rules, boundaries, and limitations after the evaluation ends. Should continued training be deemed necessary, we will discuss what training services may be best for your dog, your schedule, your budget, your family and you.

The evaluation rate begins at $125-$175 per hour with a two hour minimum. The hourly rate may increase, dependent on variables such as age, aggression, fear, type of service required, additional dogs, etc. At this time, we are only holding evaluations at A.L. Kinsaul Park in Lynn Haven on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Due to limited availability and high demand of our evaluation appointments, we require payment to be made within 48 hours upon receipt to confirm the evaluation. If payment is not complete within the 48 hour limit, the appointment will automatically be cancelled to keep our schedule from becoming backlogged. To be eligible for an evaluation, dogs must have proof of up-to-date vaccinations required for their age. Puppies under four months of age require an Official Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (OCVI) as per Florida Statute 828.29.

Canine Behavior & Human Training Evaluations: After the structured walk we will demonstrate how to correct negative behaviors, when to reward positive behaviors and provide examples of how to reinforce human leadership.
*This evaluation includes a free CGC (Canine Good Citizen) test if scheduled within one month of the evaluation date.
